  • Worked as main engineer and designer on a trimming and handling product used by Red Lobster Divers, a group of experienced divers who scuba dive with the physically disabled
  • Worked closely with clients to ensure that our engineering solutions met their outlined user needs and the clients’ expectations
  • Conducted FEA tests to improve the structure of a client’s large injection molded part and developed ways to improve the current mold with minimal additional parts

  • Collaborated with ten other staff members to hold a month-long residential summer program to introduce high school girls to mechanical engineering topics

MIT Global Engineering and Research Lab  |  Undergraduate Researcher

Summer 2013 to Spring 2015  |  Cambridge, MA

  • Worked with a graduate student towards developing a cost-effective, solar-powered water desalination system for Indian villages
  • Designed and built a bench-level setup for an electrodialysis unit and tested the energy consumption and ion removal rates of six electrolytes with this system
  • On a team of four, built and tested a full-scale system at USAID’s Desal Prize in April 2015 and placed first among 68 universities and private companies
  • Conducted user research interviews in multiple regions of India to understand consumers’ interactions with current water purification systems
  • Received BP Women in Research Innovation Award for work on this project in 2014
